Global semiconductor sales fell by 8.2% in 2023 and are expected to grow by 13.1% in 2024

Global semiconductor sales will drop 8.2% year-on-year to US$526.8 billion in 2023, but will rebound in the second half of the year. Fourth-quarter sales were US$146 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%. Global sales in December 2023 were US$48.6 billion, a monthly increase of 1.5%.

The U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association said the market was sluggish at the beginning of 2023, but rebounded strongly in the second half of the year, and is expected to achieve double-digit growth in 2024. Europe was the only regional market to achieve annual growth, with an increase of 4.0 percent, while all other regional markets saw annual sales declines.

Logic products became the largest sales product category, and sales of automotive integrated circuits reached a record $42.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%.
