The UK has announced that it will invest more than 100 million pounds (about $125 million) to set up nine new AI research centers and provide training for regulators.

Technology Minister Michelle Doniran said they have begun to take a flexible approach to specific industries to address AI risks. About £90 million of this will go to the centre, with focus areas including healthcare, chemistry and mathematics, while working with the United States. A further £10 million will be spent helping regulators capitalise on AI opportunities and address risks.

The UK hosted the International AI Security Summit in November, where more than 25 countries signed the Bletchley Declaration, working together on transnational policies to address risks.
