The European Commission plans to conduct customs registration of electric vehicles imported from China, which may lead to tariffs.

The initiative was launched to investigate whether there were unfair subsidies. The EU is worried that the rapid growth of electric vehicles in China may harm the interests of EU manufacturers.

The plan is expected to be announced in the coming days. The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is disappointed, arguing that the surge in imports reflects Europe’s growing demand for electric vehicles.
