BYD has launched its third electric car in India, the luxury electric sedan Seal, priced at Rs 41 lakh. The company is focused on increasing its share of India’s emerging electric vehicle market and has been successful.

According to data from the Federation of Indian Automobile Dealers Associations, BYD sales will be 1,877 vehicles in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 314%. Company Vice President Sanjay Gobalakrishnan said BYD will focus on high-end and technology fields and strive to become a leader.

The Indian electric vehicle market is growing rapidly, with sales reaching 1.5 million units last year. Tesla has not yet entered the Indian market, so BYD’s main competitors are local heavyweight car companies such as Tata Motors.
