China’s BYD builds production base in Brazil

Chinese electric car giant BYD confirmed to Reuters on Wednesday that it has started building a production base in Brazil.

The Brazilian complex is expected to be operational by the end of 2024 or early 2025, the company said. The first phase of the plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. It will initially produce Dolphin hatchback, Dolphin Mini, Song Plus SUV, Yuan Plus crossover and other models.
