Korean burger and chicken fast food chain Mom’s Touch will open its first Japanese directly-operated store in Shibuya, Tokyo. It is expected to open on April 16 and will cover an area of 418 square meters and can accommodate 200 people. The company said it was an important step toward global branding and overseas expansion.

They participated in the Tokyo Franchise Show as part of their expansion plan, with the goal of further expanding their international business and promoting Korean burgers. The burger market in Japan is estimated to be worth $5.3 billion. Mom’s Touch opened a pop-up store in Shibuya last year, which attracted about 33,000 visitors.

As of February, the company operated 1,420 stores in South Korea. This is the chain’s expansion into Japan, following its expansion into Mongolia last year.
