CEOs of some U.S. semiconductor companies visited China this week to participate in the China Development Forum, expressing their commitment to the Chinese market and their willingness to seek cooperation.

Chinese analysts believe that this is not entirely consistent with the “small courtyards, high walls” policy promoted by the Biden administration. Despite the U.S. government’s attempts to contain Chinese technology, the CEOs of AMD, Qualcomm, and Micron still participated in forums and met with Chinese officials to emphasize their willingness to cooperate.

They pointed out that semiconductor companies are well aware of the importance of the Chinese market and believe that decoupling from China will threaten their survival.

A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that dividing markets, destabilizing global supply chains, and hindering efficiency and innovation are not in anyone’s interests.
