According to a report released by market research company Stone Partners, Apple’s flexible OLED panel orders in the first half of 2024 dropped by 19% compared with the same period last year, with demand falling from 96.9 million units to approximately 78.8 million units, reflecting changes in market preferences for high-end smartphones.
In contrast, Samsung’s demand increased slightly by 4%, Huawei’s orders surged by 115%, and Xiaomi’s demand increased by 86%, reaching 25.6 million pieces and 27.1 million units respectively. This reflects the shift toward high-end smartphones in markets such as China.
The overall global demand for flexible OLED screens is expected to grow by 17% in the first half of the year, reaching 244 million pieces. The popularity of low-cost flexible OLED panels is an important factor driving this trend.
