Google is considering charging users to use its artificial intelligence search features and putting them behind a paywall, reports say.

The company may add artificial intelligence search capabilities to existing subscription services. A final decision has not yet been made, but Google engineers are exploring the possibility.

Google said it will continue to build new advanced features and services to enhance the subscription product, but there are no specific announcements at this time. Google’s traditional search engine remains free and generates most of its revenue from advertising, but it has been expected to expand its revenue sources in recent years.
