Xpeng Motors took the lead in entering the Hong Kong market and authorized Sime Darby Motors as its official agent, responsible for sales and after-sales service. Xiaopeng has become the first car manufacturer to sell “Wei Xiaoli” in Hong Kong, and plans to start delivering its new SUVs and seven-passenger vehicles in the third quarter.
Sime Darby has extensive sales experience in Hong Kong, which will increase Xpeng’s confidence in success there. It is expected to debut in mid-May, with pricing to be announced. As the Hong Kong government will stop registering fuel vehicles by 2035, the electric vehicle market has broad prospects.
