This move is critical for areas such as artificial intelligence and defense. In total, the program will support TSMC’s investment of more than A$98.42 billion.

Meanwhile, Samsung is considering increasing investment in its semiconductor business in Tyler, Texas, to A$66.94 billion, planning to build a second chip factory and receiving billions of dollars in subsidies from the U.S. Chip Act.
