Alphabet’s self-driving company Waymo is testing its robotaxis in Atlanta, its latest move to expand testing and deployment.
Waymo will deploy a small number of manually driven vehicles to collect map data and plans to test self-driving taxis in Atlanta in the future without the need for a safety driver.
Atlanta is the latest expansion for Waymo, which has also launched commercial services in other cities. Despite Waymo’s recent success, they also face technical challenges and safety concerns.
