EU Agriculture Commissioner Wojciechowski visited China, focusing on expanding agricultural exports and protecting food from the impact of Sino-European trade tensions. He emphasized that there are no barriers to China’s food imports.

In the face of the wave of protectionism, he stressed that the opening of food trade is crucial to maintaining food security. The EU’s agricultural export surplus highlights room for growth, especially in areas such as poultry, pork, beef and dairy products. Increased demand for high-quality food among the middle class provides opportunities for European food exports.
