On April 23, electric car manufacturer Polestar announced the launch of a smartphone, which will be launched in China in cooperation with Meizu. Both companies are related to parent company Geely.

Phone specs and pricing will be revealed later, but leaked images show straight-line cameras and thin bezels. The screen width is 2.2 mm, accounting for 91.5%, and is expected to be larger than 6.5 inches. Mobile phones do not compete directly, but create an ecosystem for Polestar cars. Polestar 2 and 3 are selling well in Australia, and Polestar 4 is already available for pre-order.

Smartphone maker Xiaomi has taken the exact opposite approach from Polestar, recently launching its electric car SU7, while Apple has terminated its electric car project.
