Bosch smart buildings are looking for buyers

European media eenewseurope reported that Bosch is building three smart building products businesses to find buyers, which have more than one-third of its employees. The reorganization of the Building Technology division will focus Bosch on its regional integrator business for solutions and services for building safety, energy efficiency and building automation.

This will result in the business selling most of the products in the construction technology segment. These include the Video, Access & Intrusion and Communications business units, with more than 4,300 employees in 90 locations around the world.

Just a few months ago, the company acquired Vancouver-based smart AI camera Paladin Technologies, which has more than 1,500 employees across 35 offices. Paladin will be integrated into Bosch in 2015, with the acquisition of Climatec in the US, and to this day is part of Bosch Building Technologies, which provides energy efficiency, building automation, safety and life safety solutions to the US market.

Bosch is currently looking for a buyer who will take over all three business units and their associated companies and locations. The fire alarm systems products business will be sold but will be merged with the integrator business and continue to operate.
