The British government has announced a massive investment plan worth $273 million to build the world’s most advanced Isambard-AI supercomputer. This supercomputer will be equipped with thousands of NVIDIA super chips and is expected to have a total capacity of more than 200 trillion calculations. It is planned to be put into operation at the University of Bristol in the summer of 2024. It will be built by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and use NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper super chip.

Isambard-AI will play a key role across the UK in advancing the development of artificial intelligence in areas such as language modeling, big data and robotics, as well as in key areas such as automated drug discovery and climate research.
