Starlink, a satellite internet service owned by SpaceX, has won a tender from Mexico’s Energia Energia to provide services to the company until December 2026.

The contract is worth between 887.5 million pesos (approximately $51 million) and 1.8 billion pesos (approximately $101 million), according to documents from Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission. Starlink’s bid beat out competing companies on price. The contract will support Internet access infrastructure in rural areas of Mexico.

Documents show the agreement will begin last month and run until December 31, 2026. As for whether the contract has come into effect and Starlink’s other public tender offers, legal representatives from CFE and Starlink have not yet responded to requests for comment.
