Filipino manufacturing workers are the beneficiaries of a new training program with support from the Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Alliance (AMDev).

AMDev is a consortium of academia, manufacturing companies, and government that aims to upskill Filipinos for modern job demands. The Department of Trade and Industry, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Makati Business Club and the Unilab Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with AMDev. AMDev aims to train 11,000 personnel to be Industry 4.0 ready, including training in technological knowledge and advanced cognitive skills. The program currently covers about 400 workers in the electronics and pharmaceutical industries and will be expanded to more industries in the future, especially in the fields of advanced manufacturing or Industry 4.0. 发送反馈 侧边栏 历史记录 已保存 提供建议

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide $5.2 million in funding, and the private sector will try to match the funds through cash or other services. The move is aimed at upskilling workers, boosting manufacturing and boosting economic growth.
