Samsung launches portable SSD with maximum capacity of 8TB

Samsung has released the latest portable SSD T5 EVO, which is the world’s first solid-state drive with 8TB storage capacity and weighs only 102 grams.

T5 EVO is available in three capacities: 2TB, 4TB and 8TB, and supports USB Type C connection. Prices start at US$189.99, 2TB is priced at IDR 2.9 million, 4TB is priced at US$349.99 (IDR 5.4 million), and 8TB is priced at US$649.99 (approximately Rp. 10 million).

The SSD has a metal handle, stylish appearance, and comes with a three-year limited warranty. The metal body and rubber surface provide extra protection, and it is said to transfer data 3.8 times faster than an external HDD, with sequential read and write speeds of up to 460MB per second.
