Reuters reports that Amazon’s $1.4 billion acquisition of sweeping robot manufacturer iRobot will receive unconditional EU antitrust approval.

The European Commission, the EU’s competition watchdog, warned Amazon in July that the deal could reduce competition in robot vacuum cleaners and cement the U.S. company’s dominance as an online marketplace provider.

The deal announced in August will add iRobot’s Roomba robot vacuum cleaner to US online retail giant Amazon’s smart device portfolio, which includes the Alexa voice assistant, smart thermostats, security devices and wall-mounted smart displays.
