U.S. Black Friday retail sales increased 2.5%

Reuters reported that Mastercard Spendingpulse said on Saturday that U.S. retail sales rose 2.5% year-on-year on Black Friday, excluding auto sales and not taking into account inflation.

In September, Mastercard’s SpendingPulse, which measures in-store and online retail sales across all payment forms, said it expected U.S. retail sales, excluding autos, to rise 3.7% during the holiday period from November 1 to December 24.
