Reuters reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will convene auto industry executives, ministerial leaders, energy industry executives and unions on Monday to discuss how Germany can achieve the goal of having the number of electric vehicles on the road by 2030. The target of 15 million vehicles.

The German government’s coalition agreement said it aimed to have “at least 15 million fully electric passenger cars by 2030”, but Transport Minister Volker Wissing last year relaxed terms to include both electric and hybrid vehicles.

The latest data from the German Federal Motor Vehicle Administration KBA shows that as of October this year, there were 2.2 million electric vehicles on German roads, of which 1.3 million were pure electric vehicles.
