TNB strengthens commitment to advancing energy transformation landscape at COP28

Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has reinforced its commitment to drive the energy transition at the upcoming 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai.

TNB President Baharin said their participation will highlight the growth potential of Malaysia’s National Energy Transformation Roadmap and become a global leader in energy transformation.

TNB has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, reducing emissions intensity by 35% and reducing coal power generation by 50% by 2035. It plans to improve the efficiency of thermal power generation and expand investment in renewable energy to achieve 8,300 megawatts of renewable energy by 2025.

TNB will invest RM90 billion between 2025 and 2030, including RM35 billion in transition projects. They will join 200 Malaysian representatives at COP28.
