Eusatellite SES, which plans to operate six satellites in the Philippines, has strengthened its collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and hopes to use MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) technology for the National Digital Inclusion Program.

SES test results show that its MEO satellites can provide 500 Mbps download speeds per second and 80 Mbps upload speeds to support remote areas.

According to SES’s Director of Enterprise and Cloud Sales for Asia, fast internet connectivity is essential for education, healthcare, and more.

The Philippine government says it will provide internet connectivity in remote areas, with plans to roll out another 52,000 free WiFi sites next year.
