Samsung and Hyundai team up to connect SmartThings to electric vehicles ​

Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group have established a strategic partnership to support connected cars, specifically electric vehicles (EVs), by expanding the SmartThings platform. The cooperation includes “home to car” and “car to home” services, allowing users to remotely manage vehicles and smart homes. ​

Services supported by the SmartThings platform will enable control of home appliances such as TVs, air conditioners and electric vehicle chargers from the car. In addition, the cooperation aims to launch integrated home energy management services and optimize electric vehicle charging time.

The collaboration demonstrates the key role of seamless connectivity and integrated solutions for future lifestyles. A specific timetable for launching the service has not yet been provided.
