Volkswagen plans to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT across its entire product line in the second quarter of 2024, launching it in Europe for the first time.

ChatGPT will improve in-car voice assistants, making it easier for drivers to talk to their car’s systems without having to create a new account or download an app.

Volkswagen said ChatGPT integration will be applied to its Tiguan, Passat, Golf and electric ID series models. Unlike other voice assistants, ChatGPT allows for more natural conversations and works with Volkswagen’s partner Cerence to ensure its proper functioning in the car.

This move puts Volkswagen at the forefront of introducing AI technology.
