Global PC shipments end quarterly decline

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the global PC market showed a year-on-year growth of 3%, with total shipments reaching 65.3 million units, notebook computer shipments increased by 4%, reaching 51.6 million units, and desktop computer shipments decreased by 1% to 13.7 million units.

Lenovo became the leader with 16.1 million units, achieving an annual growth rate of 3%. The global PC market shipments for the whole of 2023 will be 247 million units, a decrease of 13% compared with last year.

However, the market is showing positive signs, especially the emergence of personal computers with artificial intelligence capabilities. 2024 will be a critical year for the PC industry, with one in five PCs expected to have AI capabilities, especially in the business sector.

By 2027, AI PC shipments will exceed 170 million units, of which nearly 60% will be deployed in commercial environments.
