LG Electronics has launched its first overseas electric vehicle charging station in South Korea in Fort Worth, Texas, entering the U.S. electric vehicle charging market.

The new charging station factory covers 59,202 square feet and will produce more than 10,000 chargers per year, including 11 kilowatt and planned 350 kilowatt chargers. The move is in line with LG Electronics CEO William Cho’s electrification strategy, which aims to achieve sales of US$79 billion in 2030.

The U.S. government supports extensive charging plans and encourages LG’s efforts, and LG has also actively responded to U.S. electric vehicle infrastructure needs.
