Samsung plans to launch a cheaper Galaxy Z Fold 6 later this year to expand its foldable device market share in China. The move is aimed at attracting a wider range of users, although experts are hesitant about the market reaction.

Samsung lost its leading position in the global smartphone market last year, mainly due to poor sales growth in high-end phones. However, cheaper full-size foldable products may be seen as premium products that are expected to increase market share in China. Samsung’s market share in China’s ordinary smartphones is only 1%,但在可折叠智能手机市场份额高达19%.

A cheaper version of the Fold 6 could be a new addition to its foldable lineup in 2024.
