The Philippine Department of Transportation plans to launch partial operations of the north-south commuter railway by 2027.

The general manager of the Philippine National Railways said that the construction of the Tutuban-Malolos and Malolos-Clark sections is on schedule and full operations are expected to begin in 2029.

Partial operations from West Valenzuela to Malolos are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with full operations likely to start in the third quarter of 2029.

The 147-kilometer North-South commuter rail project connecting Malolos and Clark International Airport in Bulacan will significantly reduce travel time.

The project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Asian Development Bank, with a total investment of approximately 873 billion pesos.
