The Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE) plans to launch a €150 million fund to expand support for start-ups in academia.

Founded in 2008 as a university incubator in Amsterdam, ACE has been renamed Cæmpus to integrate the entrepreneurial initiatives of the four universities. The program offers discovery courses and an incubator program to help students and academics build companies.

CEO Oscar Kneppers said Amsterdam has many smart researchers but lacks systems for bringing knowledge and talent to the market. The new fund will invest in startups and strengthen the Amsterdam startup ecosystem.
