Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports surged 38% in the first two months to approximately US$749.7 million, and are expected to reach nearly US$7 billion for the full year.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture has signed an agreement on phytosanitary requirements with China’s customs, with durian expected to bring in $3.5 billion in revenue. Although the European and American markets are affected by the situation, durian, dragon fruit, etc. have promoted exports to China.

Vietnam will export medicinal herbs, coconuts, frozen fruits and watermelons to China through official channels to contribute to agricultural exports.

Last year, Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports reached US$5.6 billion, with China still being the largest buyer, and imports reaching US$3.7 billion, growing rapidly.
