Samsung to launch first AI accelerator chip in 2025

Samsung plans to launch the artificial intelligence accelerator chip Mach-1 in 2025. The company’s president and co-CEO Kyung confirmed the news at the annual shareholder meeting, saying that technical verification of the first-generation model has been completed.

Samsung is committed to leading the AI chip market and has launched Galaxy AI capabilities with plans to expand them to more devices. The company hopes to break Nvidia’s dominance in the market with new chips due in early 2025. Kyung said development of the Mach-1 is progressing well and production is scheduled to begin later this year.

He also revealed that Samsung has established a general artificial intelligence computing laboratory in Silicon Valley, USA, dedicated to developing new semiconductors for future AGI processing needs.
