The commercialization of the flying car Aircar has taken a big step, as KleinVision announced the sale of the vehicle’s manufacturing license to China’s Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Co., Ltd. The deal, for an undisclosed fee, brings flying cars closer to commercialization.

The vehicle has received aviation certification and can transform from a car to an airplane in a short period of time. It has successfully flown between cities. It is equipped with a BMW 1.6-liter engine, has a top speed of 300 kilometers per hour, and a cruising range of up to 1,000 kilometers.

KleinVision’s current goal is to obtain CS-32 certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency to remove production quantity restrictions. The deal comes as China jointly promotes the commercialization of flying cars and demonstrates Aircar’s leading position in the market.
