ATX Semiconductor Group, a global semiconductor assembly and testing services provider, has invested approximately US$55 million (RM258 million) in a new factory in Malacca called ATX Semiconductor (Melaka) Sdn Bhd. This is the ATX Group’s first manufacturing plant outside China, producing a variety of semiconductor products.

The factory has already opened and is expected to begin “large-scale” operations in the first half of 2026. It is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs and strengthen Malaysia’s supply chain.

ATX Group CEO said the investment reinforces its commitment to expand its world-class semiconductor manufacturing capabilities across multiple industries including communications, automotive, consumer products, industrial, high-performance computing and medical.
