Apple plans to launch the iPhone 17 Pro equipped with TSMC’s new 2nm chip in 2025. TSMC showed this chip to Apple, which is believed to be “the most advanced semiconductor technology in the industry” in terms of transistor density and power consumption.

Although the A17 Pro chip has just been released, Apple has begun developing the next generation of Apple Silicon for the iPhone and Mac series. Apple is TSMC’s largest customer and has purchased all 3nm chip supplies in 2023, ahead of its competitors.

The report highlights Apple’s custom chip plan, and it is expected that 2nm chips will be used in the iPhone 17 Pro for the first time. This also provides clues for the future adoption of M chips in the Mac series.
