Malaysia has become a new focus of the global semiconductor industry, attracting advanced chip packaging companies to settle in, especially in the context of the rise of artificial intelligence models.

Chinese media pointed out that the geographical location, demographic dividend, and manufacturing capacity have made Malaysia the first choice for international semiconductor giants. However, the shortage of talent and manpower is a major problem that Malaysia is working to address.

At least 50 chip manufacturers have established bases in the country, driving up local housing prices. The construction of factories in Malaysia by packaging and testing service companies is mainly driven by customer demand, including Chinese semiconductor design companies.

Malaysia plans to increase its global semiconductor packaging market share from 13 %提高至15% by 2030.
