The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will use TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process, ditching ARM’s legacy CPU design in favor of Qualcomm’s Oryon or Phoenix cores for significant performance and power efficiency improvements.

The new process is expected to increase the clock speed of the Phoenix core to 4.00GHz, while eliminating the high-performance cores and adopting a “2+6” CPU configuration, aiming to improve single-threaded and multi-threaded performance.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be powered by an Adreno 830 GPU, which is said to be faster than Apple’s M2 GPU, but this news has not yet been officially confirmed, and users will have to wait for Qualcomm’s official announcement.
