Thailand plans to export about 1 million tons of durian this year, worth 130 billion baht.

To ensure quality, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives drafted regulations, including setting dry weight standards for durian varieties. This measure aims to prevent premature harvesting and improve fruit quality and export competitiveness. Thailand recently signed a memorandum of understanding with China to promote price stability and ensure exports of tropical fruits to China.

China is expected to import about 20,000 tons of durian and mangosteen from April to June this year, worth more than 3 billion baht. Durian exports have become an important part of Thailand’s economy, generating 120 billion baht in revenue last year.
