7-Eleven convenience stores are pursuing global expansion and plan to increase the number of stores globally by 18% by 2030 to approximately 100,000, covering 30 countries and regions.

The plan is part of a restructuring of the company that includes the sale of underperforming supermarket assets. Since last year, the company has closed dozens of supermarkets, exited its clothing business and sold its Sogo and Seibu department stores.

It also agreed to more than $2 billion in acquisitions to expand its convenience store business in Australia and the United States.
