CATL has launched a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that can travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a single charge. Shenxing Plus is the world’s first lithium iron phosphate battery with this range.
Environmental protection is its advantage. Four models have already used the Shenxing battery with a cruising range of 700 kilometers, and more than 50 models will be equipped with it by the end of the year. CATL’s recent quarterly profits have turned to growth and it is one of the fastest growing among Chinese battery manufacturers, accounting for more than two-thirds of the world’s production capacity last year.
The company plans to establish an R&D center in Hong Kong to support technology exports.
