Huawei has regained its crown as the world’s largest smartphone market. According to the China smartphone market survey results for the first quarter of 2024 released by IDC, Huawei successfully returned, occupying 17% of the market share, a year-on-year increase of 110%, leading Honor by 0.1%.
Huawei’s strong growth over the past year has been the result, especially in the domestic market, where 5G phones such as the Mate 60 have been highly sought after. In addition, IDC ranked Honor and Huawei tied for first place. OPPO ranked third with a market share of 15.7%, but a year-on-year decrease of 15.5%.
Apple followed with a 15.6% share, but fell 6.6% in the Chinese market. Ranking fifth is Vivo, with a market share of 14.6%, a year-on-year decrease of 10.7%.
