Volkswagen-backed JAC plans to launch the first EV brand EV with sodium-ion batteries in January 2024. Compared to lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries are less costly, more abundant, and perform better in all weathers.

The EV appears to be the rebranded Sehol E10X, with a range of 252 km, a battery capacity of 25 kWh, an energy density of 120 Wh/kg, and support for 3C to 4C charging.

EV is a new brand of JAC, with Volkswagen holding 75% of the shares and management control, JAC owning 50% of JAC’s parent company, JAG, and the Chinese government owning the other half of JAG. There is no specific price for the EV yet.
