Tesla is moving ahead with plans for a massive electric charging corridor from Texas to California, despite not receiving federal funding from President Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill.

The program, seeking nearly $100 million in funding, plans to build nine charging stations between Laredo, Texas, and Fremont, California. The corridor will be the first charging network to support long-distance and regional electric trucking.

Despite the challenges, Tesla is pushing forward with the Semi project to fulfill its promise of electrifying heavy-duty trucks.
