ByteDance said it would not sell TikTok before a U.S. legal deadline, a move in response to new legal requirements that require it to be spun off or banned in the United States
The company denied media reports that it was considering selling TikTok, emphasizing that it had no plans to sell it. TikTok’s CEO said he would sue over the new law, but some experts believe national security considerations may be more important than free speech.
TikTok is a small part of ByteDance, which has become one of the most valuable companies in the world.
