Malacca plans to become a center of excellence in the technology sector through the German Technology Park (GTP). Construction is expected to start in 2025, with an investment of approximately RM200 million, and will provide nearly 10,000 job opportunities, including skilled workers trained under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme.

The GTP is a collaboration between the Malacca government and the private sector, with participating local companies including CY Park Resources Bhd and Teladan Group Bhd. The state chief minister said the GTP will become a technology transfer center for Southeast Asia and start operations in 2027. The project will attract 20 to 30 German companies to invest there.
