TikTok Shop has invested more than US$400 million (RM1.91 billion) in safety measures, including team building and tools and technology to handle products before and after they go on sale.

The report states that 7,500 employees are responsible for this task. Machine learning and algorithms are used to detect fraud, copyright infringement and unsafe content. Violating content will be removed after internal review.

Sellers need to provide identity and business documents and pass screening before they can sell on the platform. Six million sellers have joined, but 2 million have been denied registration and 37 million product listing attempts have failed. 1 million seller accounts were deactivated, 500,000 creators had their e-commerce functionality removed, and more than 68,000 takedown notices from brand owners were processed.

TikTok Shop is committed to continuing to invest in security measures to ensure that users’ shopping experience is safe and reliable.
