In the context of the confrontation between China and the United States, Southeast Asian supply chains have attracted much attention. According to a report by Nikkei Chinese, Port Klang in Malaysia has become the second largest port in Southeast Asia in terms of container cargo throughput, second only to Singapore. Port Klang is the 13th largest port in the world, responsible for the transshipment of cargo from surrounding areas and distant places.

Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand are competing to expand their ports. Singapore’s Tuas Port has been partially opened, Malaysia plans to build a new port on Kelly Island, and Thailand has proposed a land bridge concept to build ports on the Indian Ocean and Pacific coasts to transport goods by rail.
