Microsoft will invest RM10.5 billion in cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Malaysia over the next four years. The news was announced by CEO Satya Nadella at the National Leadership Forum on Artificial Intelligence.

The investment aims to transform Malaysia into a digital hub, cultivate 300,000 skilled talents, and drive economic growth and inclusion. The move is part of Microsoft’s ongoing “Bersama Malaysia” plan and is in line with the country’s move to embrace new technologies and is expected to unlock RM540 billion in production capacity.

The investment was welcomed by the Malaysian government and prime minister as a sign of confidence in the country’s economic and political stability.
