Land Group (JLG) has entered into a joint venture partnership with Cenergi SEA Bhd to jointly invest RM140 million to provide rooftop solar and energy solutions to commercial and industrial consumers at JLG Industrial Park in Johor.

The cooperation will cover a 4,479.47-hectare park, and the first phase of investment is expected to provide industrial and commercial consumers with 13,000 megawatts of green power generation per hour and an annual carbon emission reduction of 8,000 tons. The collaboration is an advancement of JLG’s energy-as-a-service (EaaS) product portfolio for industrial parks, supporting sustainable corporate growth. The rooftop solar system will be developed under the government’s Net Energy Metering (NEM) and Self-Consumption (SELCO) scheme, which aims to contribute to the country’s energy mix target of 31% renewable energy.

Cenergi CEO said this will help companies reduce electricity costs and comply with the requirements of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2023, and is an important step towards net zero emissions by 2050.
